Children's Day: "The Day We Celebrate Children"

"Every time a child is saved from the dark side of life, every time one of us makes the effort to make a difference in a child’s life, we add light and healing to our own lives." – Oprah Winfrey

When is International Child Rights Day celebrated?

The declaration of a specific day dedicated to children took place in 1925 at a global conference for the general well-being of children. The United Nations suggested November 20 as the International Day of Children.

It was established to raise awareness of all children worldwide who have been victims of violence in the form of abuse, exploitation, and discrimination, to encourage all nations to establish a day, to encourage children to exchange ideas and gain a better understanding of one another, and to initiate actions to benefit and promote the welfare of children worldwide.

191 nations around the world have accepted the criteria established by the United Nations General Assembly and have demonstrated their awareness of children's rights on this day, which is also known as "Childhood Day."

The date of International Children's Day varies from country to country. It is a holiday observed in many countries worldwide. International Children's Day celebrates children, raises international awareness, and improves the well-being of children.

What does the Convention say?

With support from 196 nations and territories, it is the most widely ratified international human rights treaty in history. A variety of children's rights are outlined in the convention, including:

  • They have the right to an education.

  • They have the right to be cared for, given the opportunity to grow, and to be a part of their communities.

  • They have the right to voice their opinions and participate in decisions that affect them.

  • They have the right to be protected from violence and discrimination wherever they live and irrespective of their ability, birth, or other status.

What role does education play in it?

Every nation that signs the Convention on the Rights of the Child is required, according to Article 28, to:

  • Make primary education compulsory and free for everyone.

  • Encourage the growth of various secondary education options, such as general and vocational, and make them accessible to all children

  • Make higher education accessible to all Encourage regular attendance at school and lower dropout rates, as stated in Article 29.

  • Education must fully develop each child's personality, talents, and abilities.

  • It must instill in the child a respect for human rights, as well as for their parents, other cultures, the environment, and their own.

Why the right to education is so important?

Every child in the world has the Convention on the Rights of the Child's right to an education. However, prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, nearly 260 million children, or about one in ten, were not enrolled in school. Many millions more have had their schooling upset for this present year by the well-being emergency and there are fears that many will always avoid the study hall. A global pandemic, climate change, poverty, and political unrest threaten the lives of numerous marginalized children in 2020. The key to unlocking a better future is acting on the right to education.

EE2E Giving children a Chance:

It is evident that in today’s world a child without education is like a person who is traveling without a passport. Hence, the objective of Education Early To End is to support children from birth to the tertiary level of education given they meet the criteria for the scholarship.

We won't be able to help the next generation realize their full potential if not every child receives a high-quality education. You can contribute to the argument that every child deserves the best possible start in life, a secure learning environment, and skills for the future.

EE2E's Mission:

There are millions of children today who don't attend school, However, education is the only way to get ahead in this World. A girl child who is even a little bit educated is more conscious of family planning, and health care, and is empowered to give direction and guidance to her own children’s education because she received an opportunity to be educated and learned the necessity of education in life.

Education, philanthropy, and charitable giving whether in the form of a monetary donation, giving of time or knowledge are and have been part of the glorious world of Islam. These practices hold a very central role in the teachings of the Holy Quran along with great Islamic thinkers, philosophers, and inventors.

EE2E's mission is to build better Lives for Children, their families, their communities, and society at large. Thus enabling them to be confident young adults ready to face the challenges of this competitive world. Your generous gift will help us fund our mission to help bring out families in general poverty. Together, We can make a difference.
